Melatonin Receptor 1B Polymorphisms and Reproductive Failure – a Pilot Study

چکیده

The present study aimed to investigate the possible associations between melatonin receptor 1B (MTNR1b) genetic polymorphisms and presence of reproductive disturbances due spontaneous abortion implantation failure leading pregnancy loss. patients group included 35 women presenting with one or more miscarriages and/or failure. Another 36 healthy without history at least birth served as a control group. Genomic DNA was extracted genotyping for MTNR1b rs1562444, rs10830962 rs10830963 performed by PCR-RFLP analysis. genotype distribution investigated in did not differ significantly (p > 0.05 all). Nevertheless, haplotype rs1562444 AA GG less common than (2.9% vs. 22.2%, p = 0.028). We suggest that might be protective against miscarriage. Additionally, found recurrent Studies larger populations are necessary reveal proper different haplotypes, ovarian function

Association of Melatonin Receptor 1A Gene Polymorphisms with Production and Reproduction Traits in Zandi Sheep

Melatonin regulates some major physiological processes such as maturation and function of reproductive system, pubertal development, seasonal reproduction and adaptation. The activation of melatonin hormone is mediated by melatonin receptor. Previous studies showed melatonin receptor 1A gene (MTNR1A) is highly polymorphic in seasonally breeding species. The aim of the present study was detectio...

Targeted disruption of the mouse Mel(1b) melatonin receptor.

Two high-affinity, G protein-coupled melatonin receptor subtypes have been identified in mammals. Targeted disruption of the Mel(1a) melatonin receptor prevents some, but not all, responses to the hormone, suggesting functional redundancy among receptor subtypes (Liu et al., Neuron 19:91-102, 1997). In the present work, the mouse Mel(1b) melatonin receptor cDNA was isolated and characterized, a...

A Pilot Study of Polymorphism of Adrenergic Beta-2 Receptor and Mild Asthma: A Clinical and Pharmacogenetic Study

Glycine allele at codon 16 has previously been associated with the increase in asthma severity, bronchial hyperresponsiveness and also the increase in inhaled corticosteroid dependence. This study was designed to evaluate the genetic alleles in mild asthma.Thirty-four patients with diagnosis of mild asthma (FEV1 ≥ 80%, positive methacholine test) and body mass index (BMI ≤ 30 Kg/m2) were includ...

Association of melatonin membrane receptor 1A/1B gene polymorphisms with the occurrence and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a prevalent primary neoplasm of the liver, whose heterogeneous global incidence suggests the likely impact of genetic variations among individuals on the susceptibility to this disease. Increasing evidence indicates that melatonin exhibits oncostatic properties in many cancer types at least in part mediated by its membrane-bound receptors, melatonin receptor 1A...
